JOHN G. FORD NAMED HEAD COACH!!!
On April 25,2024, the Southland Saints named John G. Ford Head Coach for their upcoming 2024-25 Season!
Coach Ford grew up in the Forest Park neighborhood of Joliet and has a strong basketball background. He is a former Professional Basketball Player with more than a decade of professional basketball experience in Europe and several years in the U.S.
Coach Ford has gained invaluable experience playing professionally overseas and semi-Pro in the U.S including being a 4 time League Champion in Finland 2nd Division, France N1 League, and the American Basketball Association.
He was Player of the Year in the France N1 League, 2 time Center and Defensive Player of the year in the France Pro B League. Coach Ford received 2 Honorable Mentions for his skill and athleticism while playing overseas. His exceptional skills and knowledge of the game led him to the opportunity to coach at the professional level in Bordeaux France as well as coaching a championship team in the Iconic American Basketball Association. He has also coached at the D1 level.
He is the founder of Ford Sports and Advocacy in Lockport, which is a nonprofit that focuses on using basketball, volleyball, and wrestling to reach youth in the community.
